iPhone Power Features Cheat Sheet
Everything your iPhone can do today — before WWDC 2026 ships another wave. We mapped 70+ live features and 60+ workflows you’d actually use. For each one: what it does, the manual setup buried in five Settings menus, and the version of it we automate down to a tap.
What’s in here
1. Quick wins — any iPhone running iOS 26
These work on the cheapest iPhone Apple still sells. No Apple Intelligence required. Most people have never turned them on.
Mail Categorization
Inbox auto-splits into Primary / Transactions / Updates / Promotions. Receipts stop drowning real mail.
Notification Summaries
Six WhatsApp messages compress to one line: “Mom · 6 msgs · planning Sunday lunch.”
Reduce Interruptions Focus
System-built Focus that uses on-device AI to decide which notifications are worth bothering you. Most powerful Focus mode shipped — almost zero adoption.
Smart Reply (Mail + Messages)
One-tap context-aware replies. Works for restaurant confirmations, schedule pings, “you free Tues?”
Type to Siri
Double-tap bottom of screen, type your Siri request silently. Way more reliable than voice in noise.
Subject-line Live Translate
Translate any selected text inline by tapping “Translate” in the action menu. Works in Mail, Messages, Safari, PDFs.
Visual Look Up
Long-press any subject in any photo: identifies plants, animals, food, landmarks, products. Add “Lookup” for shopping links.
Tap-back Suggested Photos
Type “send a beach pic” in Messages — Photos surfaces matching shots without leaving the conversation.
Live Voicemail Transcription
Voicemails arrive as readable text in Phone app. You see the message before deciding to listen.
iMessage Tapback Custom
Long-press any message and react with any emoji or custom Genmoji, not just the 6 defaults.
Spotlight + AI Search
Pull down from home, ask in plain English: “photos of Lyndsey at the lake last summer.” Surfaces image, contact, and Photos collection.
Action Button (15 Pro+)
Programmable side button. Default = Silent toggle. Repurposed = single-tap to launch any AI workflow.
2. Apple Intelligence power moves iPhone 15 Pro & 16+
Apple shipped an LLM you already paid for. Most owners turned it on once, played with one feature, and forgot it existed. Here’s the full surface area.
Writing Tools (system-wide)
Select any text anywhere → Proofread, Rewrite, Friendly, Professional, Concise, Summary, Key Points, List, Table. Works in Mail, Notes, Messages, third-party apps.
Compose with ChatGPT
In Writing Tools, tap “Compose” and you get a free ChatGPT pop-up that drafts from a one-line prompt. No login required.
Image Playground
Generate stylized images from a description, photo, or contact. Three styles (animation, illustration, sketch). Free and unlimited. Most people don’t know it’s there.
Genmoji
Type a description in any keyboard, hit the Genmoji button, get a custom emoji. Reusable, sharable, sticker-able.
Clean Up (Photos)
Photo Edit → Clean Up → circle the tourist / power line / ex-spouse. Background fills in. Local AI, no upload.
Memory Movies via prompt
Type a description into Photos: “happy moments with the grandkids last fall” → auto-edited highlight reel with music.
Notes — Math
Write or type any equation with an “=” in Notes — the answer appears. Variables auto-update as you change inputs. Free spreadsheet replacement for simple stuff.
Notes — Smart Script
Apple Pencil handwriting that auto-cleans, lets you paste typed text in your own handwriting style.
Image Wand
In Notes, draw a circle around bad sketch → AI redraws it as a clean illustration matching the surrounding context.
Notification Priority
Apple Intelligence ranks the lock screen so the IRS email surfaces above the third Pinterest ping.
Mail Priority + Summaries
Top of Mail = AI-picked priority thread. Each thread shows a one-line summary instead of preview text. Saves real reading time.
Visual Intelligence (Camera Control)
Press the Camera Control button, point at anything — identify plants, find similar products on Google, ask ChatGPT a visual question, save event details from a flyer to Calendar.
How to actually turn Apple Intelligence on (people miss this)
- Settings → Apple Intelligence & Siri
- Toggle on “Apple Intelligence” (forces a one-time download, ~3-5 GB)
- Wait until status flips to “Ready.” Can take 1-24 hours.
- Scroll down → toggle on ChatGPT integration. (Free tier — no account needed.)
- Settings → Notifications → turn on “Summarize Notifications” per-app
- Settings → Mail → turn on “Categorization” and “Priority”
- Settings → Focus → create “Reduce Interruptions” if not already there
3. The voice stack — the most slept-on layer
If you’re a contractor, agent, parent who drives a lot, or anyone whose hands are usually full — this section alone changes your day.
Phone call recording
During any call, tap the new record button. Saves to Notes with full transcript and AI summary. Other party hears an audible disclosure tone (legal in all 50 states).
Voice Memos — meeting mode
Record a meeting/sales pitch/lecture — iOS transcribes, summarizes, and (with AI on) extracts action items. Tap to export to Mail or Notes.

Live Speech
Save phrases. Tap one in a call, your iPhone speaks it for you. Priceless when sick / driving / loud venue.

Open any old recording, tap the AA icon — full transcript appears. Long-press to copy. Search across all your past memos by content.
Hey Siri while driving with CarPlay

4. Camera & Photos — not just for selfies
Live Text in any image
Long-press any photo, screenshot, or live camera frame → copy text directly. Works on receipts, business cards, signs, books.

Camera Control button gestures
Light press = focus, full press = capture, double light = zoom, slide = settings. Photo studio in your right index finger.

Mark up + Annotate
Any photo → Edit → pencil icon. Sign, redact, draw arrows, add text. Send back the marked-up version in seconds.
5. Shortcuts & automation — the secret weapon
This is the engine that makes everything else in this list daisy-chain. The Shortcuts app comes free on every iPhone, has 700+ built-in actions, and most owners have never opened it.
Time-of-day automation
“At 6:30 AM weekdays, do X.” X can be: text, email, run a workflow, call an API, brief you out loud.
Location automation
“When I arrive at the office, switch to Work Focus, open Mail, text wife I’m here.” Geofence-driven.
NFC tag automation
Stick a $0.30 NFC sticker on your truck dash. Tap your phone — it logs the trip, starts CarPlay, plays a podcast, texts dispatch.
App-open trigger
Every time you open Instagram, your phone starts a 15-minute timer and texts you when it’s up. Every time you open WhatsApp, it logs the open. Behavioral cues.
Action Button single-purpose
One press = run any Shortcut. Hold to speak = AI brief. Double-press = log a sales call.
Get Contents of URL
Hit any API from your iPhone. Send + receive JSON. This is how MyPromptPro plugs Claude into your phone.

Share Sheet integration

Home Screen + Lock Screen widgets
Pin a Shortcut as a widget. Run it from the lock screen with Face ID, no app launch needed.

Charging trigger
Plug in at night = night-mode brief. Wireless charge at desk = work-mode brief. Different routines per dock.
Email trigger (iOS 18.4+)

6. Health & wellness — turn on what came with the box

Within 30 ft of a lost AirTag, your iPhone shows arrows + distance, leads you to it like a metal detector.

12. What WWDC 2026 will likely add (low-confidence)
We’ll re-issue this cheat sheet the day after the keynote. For now, our best read on what to expect:
- App Intents v3 — deeper third-party hooks. Today, Shortcuts can’t cleanly read a CRM record or set a Slack status. Most analysts expect this gap to close.
- On-device personal context — Apple Intelligence using your full personal data (calendar, contacts, mail) to answer “when’s mom’s flight landing?” without leaving the device. Promised for late iOS 18 cycle, likely re-promised at WWDC 2026.
- LLM Siri — for real this time — conversational Siri replacing the 2011-era engine. Beta only at first; widely expected.
- Apple Intelligence on more devices — possible expansion to base iPhone 17 / 18 line-up, A19 chip dependent.
- Image Playground v2 — better realism, better text rendering, possibly video.
- Vision Pro — affordable model — rumored. Would change the spatial-photo automation roadmap meaningfully.
What this cheat sheet costs you
Free. Save the link. The whole point of MyPromptPro is that you don’t need to memorize this list — we run it for you, one tap each. But if you want to set up Mail Categorization on your own, here’s the page that tells you exactly how.
Want a single Shortcut that wires up the most useful three of these in one shot? Email us and we’ll send the install link.
